Writing 101 day 6: “Maracas”

Lady at Victoria Station shouting loud and long
Placards behind her heralding her many-sided song
Commuters passing blindly, amusement in their eyes
And when a policeman came along I wasn’t that surprised
At first her remonstrations were polite as she protested
But as her agitation showed it looked as though she’d be arrested.
Whatever passed between the two though, kept the officer at bay
Though I wondered about her maracas as I hurried on my way
The answer to that question came evidentially when
Later at Westminster amongst the tourists near Big Ben
The lady loud appeared again, maracas shaking to a beat
As her shouting turned to singing right there out in the street
Now the tourists passed her blindly, amusement in their eyes
Though now with several tapping feet as some danced, to her surprise

She certainly cheered up my day and is quite the most interesting person I’ve almost met so far this year!
