Cream Tea

Had a cream tea at Goring

Down at Sea Lane cafe

Dark clouds threatened a gathering storm

As people hurried out of the way

We just had time to gobble the scones

With jam and clotted cream

Before the rain arrived to quell

The British summer dream

Nice words Jem. I got caught in a downpour yesterday too, down by the canal. just after spotting a kingfisher though – so it was worth it.

No, unfortunately not. I was running at the time & didn’t have a camera/phone with me. Even if had, I doubt I would have got a pic – it was too quick.

Love the rhythm of that one. Your words add to the picture very nicely.

Thank you so much for those kind words. It means such a lot to find that the words I write and the pics I take give as much pleasure to others as they do to me. I won’t stop though, so no worries – there’s plenty more to come!
