We have a special privilege
as we live in easy reach
For when the sun shines bright and warm
we can just nip down to the beach
Watch the moving waters
have a cup of tea
soak up a bit of sunshine
or listen to the sea
We can dust off all the cobwebs
and breathe in the fresh air
and revel in the privilege
of simply being there

Loved the verse, but leave a reply it says, so…
It sometimes would be very nice
To live close to the water
But to reach the beach from where we live
Takes longer than it ought’er
For we live in the heart of France
Of that we often boast
But it takes at least six hours by road
To reach the nearest coast
