Charleston Farmhouse

IMGP0003

Spent an afternoon at Charleston
Bloomsbury evidential there
with paintings on the furniture
and wonder everywhere

Saw a snapshot of Bohemia
with plenty to admire
And, risqué elements aside
motivation to aspire

Stepped back in time a hundred years
at the Sisters’ kind behest
Found peace in their contented home
and in their garden, rest

The Bloomsbury Group included (amongst others) Clive Bell, Maynard Keynes, Virginia and Leonard Woolf, E. M. Forster and Roger Fry. [Photo – Jempics].
