A problem that we poets face
with discomfort and malaise
Is to not feel much like writing
for days and days and days
But then all of a sudden
something will inspire
And then not much can stop us
as we really are on fire

And it doesn’t have to really be
much of significance
Just something seen in passing
not to merit second glance
Like a flower or a raindrop
or a sunrise or the sea
All of these things and many more
Inspire our poetry
