End of summer Robin

Saw a Robin Redbreast
by the bike sheds yesterday
Reminded me that winter
isn’t now that far away
Yet now there’s still a warmth
on the breeze so it’s not yet
time to dig the coats back out
and scarves and jumpers get

Autumn still has promise
and the sunshine still has strength
Although the days are shorter
and the evenings have less length
So for now I’ll cling to sunshine
as I heard the Robin say
that he’s been here all summer
and more warmth is on the way
