How many words?

How many words written
goodness only knows
It must be in the millions
with the poems and the prose
that all these years I’ve written
ever since I was a lad
Some words to cover sadness
but most to cover ‘glad’

How many words I’ve written?
I’ve really no idea
although it has been said before
I’ve ‘verbal diarrhoea’
But this is something that I do
so I don’t really care
‘Cos I’m not stopping writing
as there’s lots more life to share
