I felt like a wander
out to the Loop
six miles again over the Downs
But the rain paid a visit
its objectives upheld
resigned to stay home with some frowns
And yes I agree with you
strongly in fact
the weather shouldn’t get in the way
but I tell you the stair rods
falling out there
made their point as they had their say
So despite all the Goretex
and wellington boots
the wet weather gear stayed at home
and the six mile circuit
didn’t see me today
as I think my words here will have shown
But don’t get me wrong
just wait for the sun
and you’ll see me up there again
cock-a-hoop with aplomb
for the six-miler long
and not kept at home by the rain
