Gorgeous II

Rustic, these sculptures
turn their heads to the sky
be it grey or bright blue
with clouds floating by

In our garden their splendour
brings pleasure each day
Each unique and quite gorgeous
in their own special way

We’re so pleased that we found them
in the Lewes town store
and it’s not beyond reason
that we’ll go back for more

Pink and gorgeous

It was there in mid April
delivered with grace
Pink and quite gorgeous
and right in my face

Blossom to tell me
that Spring really was
here now the winter
had ended because
the sun had had
enough of all this
and needed to show us
a little of bliss

Bliss that with blossom
so lovely and pink
gives pause just to wonder
and ponder and think
that now we can all
look forward to sun
and warm days of summer
for laughter and fun

Sumptuous

They inspire in me a wholesomeness
as a new day is begun
Summer flowers in full array
awakened by the sun

Their colour is quite sumptuous
intoxicating me
As I stand transfixed to take it in
momentarily

Tie-dye in the sunshine

Yesterday in the sunshine
On my day of birth I saw
Some flowers in the garden
Which deserve (at least) encore

Tie-dye in the sunshine
A halcyon memory there
Absolutely gorgeous
Which I’m happy here to share

Lily

Dancing on a bed of white
my stamen orange in the light
I really am a gorgeous sight
for any eye to see

Fragrant there my sweet perfume
a bouquet subtle to presume
Those winter blues I will subsume
and watch them simply flee

Mystery Mauves

I don’t know what these flowers are called
though I searched Google for a while
Their mauve is simply glorious
and they certainly bring a smile
All my hashtags failed, yes every one
the search it was in vain
A thousand pics of tiny flowers
but not one of them the same
So if there’s any reader out there
who knows what these ones are
If you’d care to leave a comment
that would be spectacular

Gorgeous

I gaze up to those Sussex hills
beneath clear skies of blue
And one word springs to mind that is
descriptive of that view

For they’re nothing short of gorgeous
bathed in the evening light
A landscape painted there for me
a truly lovely sight

They sing to me in dulcet tones
with soft and sultry voice
These fields of green and rolling hills
For them I’ll oft rejoice
