Pink III

I’m bold and I’m gorgeous
Bright in the sun
Pink, I am all about
life that’s begun
And I have no comparison
for tears or a smile
As you’ll not see such beauty
again for a while

Pink II

I lay as soft carpet
pink where I fall
Whilst above me all turns to green

My task it is over
as with beauty I fade
leaving growth wherever I’ve been

Pink

The breeze has blown
all the pink to the ground
from the blossom up there in the tree
Like a carpet it lies
with a hint of surprise
which is very appealing to me

So I whipped out my phone
on my way back to home
and took a few pictures to keep
For it’s lovely to see
and breathtaking to me
so much that it caused me to weep

Pastel Pink

Pastel pink and gorgeous
Marshmallow-like the blossom swells
on over-laden tree boughs lovely
As every April springtime tells

And there is nought to touch this
rather splendid time of year
This blossom outpouring wonder
there to bring us cheer

Pink and gorgeous

It was there in mid April
delivered with grace
Pink and quite gorgeous
and right in my face

Blossom to tell me
that Spring really was
here now the winter
had ended because
the sun had had
enough of all this
and needed to show us
a little of bliss

Bliss that with blossom
so lovely and pink
gives pause just to wonder
and ponder and think
that now we can all
look forward to sun
and warm days of summer
for laughter and fun

December blossom

There’s blossom in the bushes
even though it’s now December
And I know it’s been quite warm of late
but you’d think it would remember
That winter sun although still bright
deceives with days of chill
and Spring is several months away
with quite some waiting still
Don’t get me wrong though, I’m quite pleased
to see these buds of pink
I’m just surprised and know the chill
will stop their growth I think

Many happy returns

Back when it was purchased
with its buds not yet in bloom
I thought I’d save a picture
of it for the first of June
And now that day has come
and the summertime is here
I’m really pleased I waited
as its beauty is now clear

It’s name too has a purpose
and as the title above goes
We’re really looking forward
to more flowers from this rose

Perfection in Pink

The Clematis against the fence
of the allotment in Ham Field
has many words which might describe
the beauty here revealed

But I’ll keep it nice and simple
the best thing here I think
and simply say in these eight lines
perfection’s here in pink

Pink Valerian

Growing wild on Sussex beaches
Pink Valerian provides
Some colour on the shingle
high above the tides
It grows behind the beach huts
and on the shingle too
Quite beautiful in summer
adding to the view
Four hundred years it’s been here
but now grows mainly wild
Most commonly in Sussex
where the climate is quite mild
