Twelve months seven

No. 12 of 12 in the Jemverse “Twelve months” series

Delphinium Larkspur
climbs to the sky
in the bright sun
on the first of July

The seventh birth flower
its colour just glows
hiding the secret
that only it knows

Suffice here to say
that its beauty transcends
this series of twelve
which is now at its end

Twelve months eight

This poem starts a series
that will run through the year
A new one when the first
of every month is drawing near
And August starts it off
as it seemed the thing to do
No better place than summer
to begin a series, new

August is synonymous
with the height of summer sun
When days are at their hottest
and the holidays have come
And yes, I know that here in England
that’s sometimes not the case
As I’ve known Augusts (as have you)
when it’s chilly round the place

But I’m sure you’ll catch my meaning
as the intention is quite clear
That August brings a smile
because the holidays are here
Time to have a break from work
and maybe get away
Or simply lounge around the beach
as sunshine fills the day

I am the one in four

I am the one in four
leaping through the years
My letters match my value
unique, so it appears
I’m the plus one to three six five
my invitation rare
Tagged on as February twenty-nine
a tetrad seldom there
